The North Bay Organizers and Coaches (NBOC) is a private group of professional organizers and organizing coaches who work in the area north of San Francisco: Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Lake and Mendocino counties. In an effort to support the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) Shoe Drive Challenge, we are asking our clients, local businesses and the public to donate not only their unloved and ill-fitting shoes but to make a cash donation to cover the cost of shipping the shoes to the Soles4Souls distribution center in Fontana, CA. Soles4Souls will get the shoes to the people who need them but it is our job to deliver them to their warehouses. It is estimated that we will need at least $1.00 per pair for shipping. We have set a goal of raising $5,000.00 which we hope will be enough to ship the well over 5000 pairs of shoes we expect to collect before the end of the year. Currently we have several Sonoma County shoe stores, including Sole Desire and Fleet Feet, helping us collect shoes. We also have numerous community groups, including a church, dance studio, gym and choir bringing in used shoes. In the months of November and December we will be partnering with Whole Foods in Sebastopol and Santa Rosa to run fundraising and shoe drive events at the stores. We believe that by gathering shoes we are helping everyone take a step towards getting organized in their own homes. It may be a small gesture to start with shoes and closets but the same organizing principles apply to every area of our lives. We hope people will take advantage of this opportunity to make a little room in their closets and help someone in need. You can see from our pictures that we have collected A LOT of shoes. Your donation is critical to getting all these shoes to the people who need them. Thank you for your support. As of 11/16, we have over 1,500 pairs of shoes!
