Please HELP the Alpha Upsilon Zeta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa kick off GLOBAL G.E.E.K.S H20. In collaboration with Soles4Souls and The ChildrenÃÂÃÂs Safe Drinking Water Foundation, Alpha Upsilon Zeta is preparing to change the world ONE PAIR & ONE PACKET at a time.
The primary purpose of this project is to help prevent the spread of parasitic diseases that plague over 1.4 billion people worldwide, and to arrest the deaths of over 4000 children per day caused by the diarrheal infections contracted by drinking contaminated water . Our combined efforts will provide water purification packets and shoes to assist in decreasing these disparities.
RAFAEL'S STORY
Rafael is three and has never owned a pair of shoes, just like his five brothers and sisters. His mother, who lives alone with the children outside the Tegucigalpa City Dump, said she is happy her children will be able to walk to school three miles down the dirt road more safely. (Honduras has a high prevalence rate of Hookworm infection, and many children like Rafael are at direct risk for infection.)
Your sponsorship not only provides new shoes, it will also purchase water purification packets.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
- A $5 donation sponsors 3 pairs of shoes and provides 200 liters of Clean Drinking Water for a child in need.
- A $10 donation sponsors 6 pairs of shoes and provides 400 liters of Clean Drinking Water for a child in need.
- A $20 donation sponsors 12 pairs of shoes and provides 800 liters of Clean Drinking Water for a child in need.
